Description
On November 1st, 1941, Ansel Adams shot his iconic photograph of a cemetery in Hernandez, New Mexico. It shows a church with a cemetery to its right and the rising moon lighting up the crosses and headstones. It is physically impossible today to replicate the photograph. The church and cemetery are not visible from the spot he set up his camera due to large trees and buildings. But you can still walk among the graves and wait for the moon, this time not to rise, but to set. This photograph was taken at sunrise with the moon setting and the crosses and headstones illuminated not by the moon, but by the rising sun.
